THE Royal Playa del Carmen received the prestigious "International Star Diamond Award" for the second year in a row. The recognition is awarded by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences to select five star hotels that exceed a selection of criteria for facilities, operations and service.

In addition the AAHS is also awarding Real Resorts the "Green Diamond" recognition for its commitment to ecology and the environment. Real Resorts has been instrumental in working towards ecologically sound programs to protect the natural reef along the coast of Cancun, as well as employing sustainable operating practices at all four properties.
